I’m a small step – just one at a time type of girl.  I don’t believe that big changes just happen in the blink of an eye or overnight.  If I only had that type of power and could pass it along to you!

LASTING change comes from small, sometimes seemingly unimportant, minute by minute then daily decisions and choices.  It’s not sexy, easy, or magical; we both know it’s just not that way.

I’m sure you, or someone very close to you, can name FIVE habits you want to change, improve, or completely drop.  Skipping a workout, missing a meal, eating too much sugar, sitting all day long, inhaling food instead of mindful eating. – you get the idea.

Have you ever considered why you keep those habits if they are indeed not working?  What triggers you to keep that bad habit or reach for that item you know you shouldn’t eat?

When you grab for the “slippery slope” item – you know the one – STOP.  Just Stop.  Seriously, I mean it Stop for an extra second and THINK:

  • Why am I grabbing for this item now?
  • What am I missing emotionally right now?
  • Who am I missing right now?
  • What am I trying to control?
  • What am I doing vs. what do I really want?
  • Do I really need this immediate gratification at the expense of my long-term health?

The choices we make create our results, but we need to know WHY we make those choices in order to implement the changes we need.  I challenge you to start looking for your triggers and digging into the WHY.  I’m warning you now; it may not be pretty. We all have to face our internal demons, but I promise it will be worth it.

Knowledge is power! As you identify the WHY, some of you may be able to make changes on your own.  If you’re like me however, knowledge isn’t enough to keep me accountable and enable me to follow through on making changes.

  • Do you have a PLAN? I do. For you.

  • Do you have the right ENVIRONMENT?  I do. For you.
